A wonderful piece of writing which is not free of contradiction even as it tries to transcend them.
Having tasted the sacred vine, once she whispered to me - this is all there is; you are of the earth; taste it; enjoy it; become it. I had no soul, no spirit, and was only life immersed in life.
And yet that same spirit vine has shown me bardo realms, taken me beyond this life, and even manifest an immense glowing image - multi-reflective and resplendent - of a the Buddha laughing and enlightened.
How do you square the circle? How do you separate heaven from earth, mind from heart, or spirit from nature?
Our minds cannot encompass the contradiction - but perhaps our richest poetry is born of the attempt to bridge it through metaphor (- and our richest art, through symbols..?).
This piece of writing admirably shows us both sides of the question, and affirms through the heart that one is more needed. I have no doubt our age needs Nectarian art - and I would be happy to add the name of Daniel Mirante to the list of highly-gifted Nectarian artists ...
