you not only do Peter & his book justice, you evoke the essence of his story so well that i am inspired to read Ayahuasca in my Blood again.

indeed, my only criticism about the book is that it had to end! i wish i could read writing of this calibre every eve*

- We all just need a dose of ayahuasca! haha but i know i know our individual journeys have to lead us to that. If more people would realize that the government is run by personal greed and is holding us back in spiritual evolution, we’d be one giant leap forward to a perfect world. I know I’m ready but society has the blanket over their eyes. One thing for sure is the enlightened must make a contribution no matter how small. Mine is in the making, I feel as if it is my destiny… I may be wrong, but it feels right… You never know, I could make history.. haha we’ll see… My story… to be continued

Any idea if the documentary was ever finished? The only post about it on Donal’s website ( http://headoverheels.org.uk/stories-on-a-stick/ ) is quite old.

Interesting also what he says about some of the Irish folklore resonating with the stories around Pucallpa – I was telling my partner’s Mum (from rural Ireland) about the idea of sorcery in the amazon as some sort of social equaliser (from Steve Beyer’s book), how if someone gets sick out there they won’t necessarily think “what did I eat?” (for example) but “who have I annoyed?”; and she went “of course!” and rambled off about the tradition that on Mayday, and Mayday only, the boundaries between peoples’ properties were relaxed and kids could run free and explore without fear – for the rest of the year it was dangerous to do so because if a crop failed or an animal got sick the blame would stick to some poor little tresspasser… a boy from one of the neighbouring families had once been caught playing near some stones on their land, and something bad had happened on their farm as a result – this was a couple of generations back but her parents would still whisper & mutter whenever the offending family were mentioned.

I’m glad to see somebody else recognize this interview for how important it can be for ayahuasca going forward. So many topics are covered, from the political aspects of ayahuasca evangelism to a transformation of the current ayahuasca tourism model into an apprenticeship model, and more.
